FAQs

How do I get started?

The first step is to arrange a complimentary 15 minute call with me. On this call, I will ask about what you would like some help with, and you can ask me any questions you have. If we agree that I have the right skills to support you, we can arrange an assessment appointment. If we don't think we are a good fit, I will help you to find some alternative options.

What happens in my assessment?

This appointment will last 50 minutes. I will ask about the difficulties or concerns you have, and we will talk through what it is you are hoping to work on and change. By the end of the assessment, we will agree a preliminary treatment plan. This usually consists of weekly sessions with a regular review, to make sure we are keeping on track.

How much does it cost?

Each session is 50 minutes in duration and costs £130.00. The fee is payable via bank transfer or cash, before the session.

You may wish to fund sessions via your health insurance. Please get in touch if this is the case, so I can let you know if I am registered with your insurer.

Where will we meet?

We can meet in person, at my discreet and comfortable consulting rooms at 11-12 Tokenhouse Square. They are short walk from Bank, Moorgate, and Liverpool Street stations. I also offer online sessions via Google Meet, or a combination of the two.

How many sessions will I need?

We can tailor a piece of work to your preferred length of treatment and budget. Some people only need a few sessions to make sense of things and plan their next steps. Other people benefit from a longer piece of work over several months. We can discuss this together when we meet.

What is a clinical psychologist?

Clinical psychologists are specialist mental health professionals, trained in both psychological therapy and research. The journey to qualifying as a clinical psychologist takes a minimum of 7 years of study, experience, and training. Because of this, we are well-placed to offer highly tailored, evidence-based therapy that you can put your trust in.

Some of my problems link to things like race, gender, sexuality, and religion. Can we talk about that?

Yes. In my practice, there is always space to explore issues of identity, diversity, and discrimination. I believe strongly that it is my job as a therapist to incorporate these aspects into the work.

I've never had therapy before, is that a problem?

Absolutely not. My job is to guide you through the process and help you to feel comfortable and able to challenge yourself to make changes. I really like working with people who are not used to therapy, so that I can help you see that it doesn't need to be a scary and mysterious thing.
